Case presentation We report the case of a patient admitted to intensive care for cerebral thrombophlebitis revealing a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Discussion The inflammatory nature of SARS-CoV-2 infection exposes an increased risk of thrombosis. In this article, we will discuss its mechanism and the anticoagulant treatment modalities. Conclusion Besides the typical clinical signs, SARS-CoV-2 infection can manifest as thromboembolic complications such as pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and less frequently cerebral thrombophlebitis. Highlights • Several studies have demonstrated an association between SARS-CoV-2 and thromboembolic event. • These thromboembolic complications may be in the foreground. • Cerebral thrombophlebitis is a rare and serious complication of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
