Highlights • Nearly 25% fewer cases of breast cancer were diagnosed due to the pandemic. • Newly diagnosed breast cancer occurred more frequently at advanced stage. • The use of conserving surgery, radio and chemotherapy declined in 2020 vs. 2019. • Survival rate within the year of diagnosis was 97.6% in 2020 and 98.3% in 2019. • Year of diagnosis was no longer prognostic after adjustment for stage and treatment. • 30-day mortality nearly doubled in 2020 even in uninfected patients.
