Highlights • 256 adults seeking mental health support participated in a relational agent-guided cognitive behavioral therapy intervention • Significant reductions in perceived stress and burnout and increases in resilience were observed over the 8-week study period • Outcome improvements were generally observed irrespective of baseline clinical and demographic characteristics • Hypothesis-testing studies are warranted to draw conclusions about efficacy
