Fisher and colleagues demonstrate that a noninvasive device that co-administers suction and electroporation at the site of intradermal plasmid DNA injection dramatically enhances gene expression and vaccine immunogenicity. Both vacuum and electroporation appear to work synergistically through different mechanisms. Physical and electrical design parameters directly influence immunogenicity in guinea pigs.
