In this study, we found that for children with Kawasaki disease, a predictive model for retreatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) could be constructed by analysing the cytokine profiles and the percentages of lymphocyte subsets in the serum. This model demonstrated satisfactory predictive power and offers a novel strategy for early identification of patients in need of IVIG retreatment.
