During the early liver injury stage, SMFs decrease free radicals and increase GSH levels to reduce oxidative stress and liver cell death. During the later liver repair stage, vertically downward SMFs (in gravity direction, g ) exert Lorentz forces (F L}) on negatively charged DNA to relax the DNA supercoil, increase DNA synthesis, and promote liver cell proliferation. SMF and NAC in combination can significantly alleviate high-dose APAP-induced acute liver injury, even when used 24 h after APAP overdose.
